I knew JP in college as well. We played in a Misfits cover band in May outside stonerow. He was great. What a talented guy for this world to lose. Very sad.

Emma: I hope to meet you too. Most likely I’ll be on the East Coast in October. Let’s keep in touch. Let me know what you’re doing from time to time. You & other young players embody the energy that keeps the music changing, growing, alive. If you want to check out one of my songs, “Mr. P”, that John produced & plays on go to YouTube & search my full name. We recorded with an extraordinary group of musicians & are checking out takes & John & Scott will mix & edit at NRS soon. When the CD is together I’m sure John will get a copy to you. Meanwhile I’ll ask him to give you a copy of “Earthship” which is one example of the way we played before Parkinson’s, or Mr. P, came along. Stay strong & live in the Music.

Dear Sangeeta-
I deeply appreciate you taking the time to read and listen and write this beautiful response. It feels good to know that people are continuing to hear JP’s music, and I know he would be happy that you especially (an incredible musician yourself) are checking it out! I honestly feel a bit knocked down by all this, but underneath that is the same inspiration you speak of. Thank you so much for reaching out. It means a lot. I hope we can meet sometime, maybe at John’s.

Dear Emma Alabaster: Thank you for sharing your thoughts & some of the music you made with JP. I am moved by the beauty of the music, right up to the haunting sounds you all made not long before JP left the planet. His courage, & yours, is a great inspiration to me; as is the skillful original deeply felt & beautifully rendered honest music you, Jonathan & your other collaborators have brought into the world. I have listened to some of the music, e.g. WRU & the improv you couldn’t stop listening to, etc. I look forward to listening to all of the sounds & revisiting them again. I’m also looking forward to the videos. I wasn’t fortunate enough to get to know JP in life; thank you for giving me a glimpse of his brilliant spirit.
